1. When standing upright with arms relaxed, the top of the cane handle should be level with the wrist crease. The elbow should be slightly bent (about 15-20 degrees) when holding the handle.
2.The cane should be held on the stronger side of the body. Move the cane forward simultaneously with the weaker or injured leg.
3.Before bearing weight, always check that all four tips are firmly and flatly on the ground.
